Finding inner peace, fulfillment, love, and feeling loved… is this not what we all want?

The paths to such states of being can be healthy and effective, or unhealthy and self-destructive.

I am a Clinical Psychologist with over thirty years experience working in a variety of settings both in California and British Columbia. My recent work focuses on facilitating healing from recent and past traumatic experiences that are unconsciously blocking being able to fully live in the present or embrace one’s potential for the future. Currently based in Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast of BC, I offer Psychological services for both individuals and couples looking for positive change in their lives.

I offer a safe, confidential, non-judgmental environment.

Creating a safe environment for you to feel supported and comfortable is my first priority when we initially meet. During the counselling process individuals and partners can explore, reflect and gain the skills and perspective necessary to support the path towards personal wholeness.

During the free initial 15-minute telephone consultation I will get a good sense of what you need, whether I can help, and when you can make an appointment.

How my approach can help you.

I believe in a holistic mind / body approach in the healing of psychological, emotional and spiritual illness. My approach integrates my medical nursing background and over thirty years of practice as a Clinical Psychologist. The specific techniques include mindfulness cognitive behavioural skills that can enhance a change in perspective and functioning. I also include some body awareness and breath techniques that may assist you in relaxing which will enhance problem solving and creativity. Often in dealing with traumatic experience EMDR (eye movement desensitization resensitization) technique is used which can result in a relatively fast shift in perspective to past trauma bringing much relief.

Through the healing journey which is a process of connecting with a trusted therapist, you can find the support and guidance necessary to gain a perspective that results in an improved sense of self- care, balance, and courage to embrace life more fully.
